Dealing with Depression

Note: The tips listed here may not help for severe cases of clinical depression but are meant to ‘beat the blues’.

Depression has been affecting a large number of people nowadays. Many of them don’t even know that they are suffering from depression. Here are some simple starting tips to overcome depression:

* Know the cause of your depression.
* No one has seen the future. Try to be optimistic about it.
* Be positive. Try and be free of any negative thoughts.
* You might have had positive experiences in life too. Try and focus on them.
* Note all your positive accomplishments in the week.
* Be active. Try and meet new people. Indulge in social gatherings.
* Try and include social activities in your weekly schedule.
* Indulge in a hobby. It will keep you busy. Remember, an idle mind is a devil’s workshop.
* Exercise. It will help you be occupied apart from making you toned up and sexy.
* Try meditation when you are tensed. It will help relax you and make a head-start.
* Involve yourself in some volunteering. It will keep you active.
* Set for yourself achievable goals.
* Accept that every individual is different. Accept your negatives. Know your positives and try to improvise on them.
* While expressing anger, be confident.
* And last but not the least, enjoy sex with your partner (be innovative). ;)

Also, know that depression is entirely treatable. Though, self help is the best help. In case you can’t overcome it and depression (sadness) still persists, consult a psychiatrist.
